Flashback Friday: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Ah, getting your hair did. Not the most enjoyable experience in the world if you're a girl. Whether you're getting it plaited or relaxed; blown out or oil treatments there is just a point where its extremely unenjoyable. Lets face it getting your hair un-braided is almost just as painful as getting it done. I recently experienced the pains of being a woman when I unbraided. First of all the lady at the salon came at my head with a scissors like a mad woman! Why are salon people always so enthusiastic to cut?! So I was all like "NAH! Not up in here!". Then she was pulling my hair like she wanted to detach it from my scalp. Seriously. Then two other people joined in to help her and it was literally heart-stoppingly painful. tears in the eyes kind of thing. So for those of you who dont know about or have african hair, when you take your braids out there is usually "growth". This just means that you've got like afro type hair holding your braid to your scalp. And boy did I have growth. You really gotta get in ther and comb it out so you just have to put on a brave face and get through it. Phew, just thinking about it gives me the spine chills( not the good kind).

So the point is bascically: a girl getting to make her hair look semi respectable takes some work. So guys tell your girl her hair looks good even when you dont notice any change cause it will make her feel good. And girls dont be haters. Tell another lady when her hair is looking good. Who knows what she had to do to get it that way.

Take a little trip down memeory lane with me and lets go bak to a time when I was getting my hair braided and it hurt because there were 3 million people touching my head at once: futcHAHA child: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
